SENDCOs, teachers, headteachers and PTAs all share the same challenge: how do you create a sensory space that really works when space is limited and budgets are under pressure? For many schools, sensory provision is something that gets squeezed into an empty office or shared corner of a classroom. The result is often far from ideal. That’s why we’re inviting you to our FREE Sensory Room Discovery Days this October. Across two days at our Nottingham show site, you’ll be able to step inside our brand new modular sensory room and see what’s possible for your school. More than that, you’ll be able to talk to experts, get hands-on with equipment, and connect with other professionals who are facing the same challenges and are looking to create inclusive learning, support and sensory spaces for their pupils.
Why attend a sensory room discovery day?
If you're considering introducing (or upgrading) a sensory space in your school or educational setting, there's only so much you can learn online. Photos and brochures are helpful, but nothing compares to stepping inside a finished sensory space and experiencing it for yourself, from the tactile panels and projections to the soothing sounds and lights. That’s exactly what our FREE Sensory Room Discovery Days are all about. You’ll have the chance to walk through a fully installed modular sensory room, see how the layout flows, and get a feel for how pupils might use the space in real life. You can test out the latest sensory technology and discover how each element can be adapted to suit your pupils’ individual needs.
It’s also a chance to talk directly with the experts. Our team at Cabins for Schools will walk you through the modular building specification, cladding, layout options and finishes, while our partners at Sensory Technology will provide a hands-on demonstration of how the equipment works and how it can be tailored for SEND and SEMH provision. Whether you’re a headteacher, SENCO, or a member of the PTA helping to fundraise, you’ll come away with practical knowledge and inspiration to take back to your school.
A new approach to effective sensory spaces
Before partnering with Sensory Technology, we were hearing from countless schools and educational settings that their sensory provision had either been compromised by a lack of space, or lost altogether because rising pupil numbers meant classrooms had to take priority. We understand the pressure, but we also know just how important sensory environments are for the pupils who need them.
That's why we've introduced our bespoke modular sensory rooms! Our standalone timber buildings are fully tailored to suit your available outdoor space as well as student and staff requirements. They are insulated, robust, and designed to feel calm, safe and separate from the busyness of the main school building. By situating them outdoors, you don’t need to sacrifice a classroom or convert an unsuitable space. At our Sensory Room Discovery Days, you’ll be able to see what this approach looks like in practice.

What you'll experience on at our sensory room discovery days
We ask that you book a demonstration slot to really get the most out of your visit our Nottingham show site. When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a complete sensory room, ready to explore. You’ll see how fibre optic lights, immersive projections, tactile panels and sound systems can transform the environment within seconds.
As well as exploring the space itself, you’ll have the chance to speak with our modular building experts about what would work for your school. Sensory Technology’s specialists will also be available to talk through equipment choices, so you can leave with a clearer idea of how to put together the right solution for your pupils.
And because these days are designed as much for networking as they are for demonstration, you’ll also meet other SENDCOs, teachers and professionals who are on the same journey. Many schools are facing similar challenges, and sometimes the most valuable part of the day is hearing how others are tackling the same issues.

Places are limited, so we encourage you to book your slot as soon as possible. Each session is designed to give you space, time and personal support so you can get the most out of your visit. Plus, you are very welcome to bring colleagues, governors, or PTA members with you. It’s often helpful for everyone involved in the decision to see the space first-hand. By attending together, you can get clarity on what works, what’s possible, and how to make it happen for your school, without hours of research.
